5th Grade

Students will be exploring engineering and robotics by using Lego WEDO 2.0 kits and software computer programming. The following experiments will be completed in this quarter class: 20 “Getting Started” activities, “Airplane Rescue”, “Sailboat Storm”, “Hungry Alligator”, “Giant Escape”, “Drumming Monkey” and the “Roaring Lion” project, along with other interesting activities. Students will work cooperatively with a partner to complete all assignments.

6th Grade

LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Robotics

Designed for students to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math utilizing the LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Core Set concepts, student Chromebooks, and the LEGO Mindstorms curriculum.

7th Grade

Innovative Design Technology

The objective of this course is to help the student develop an awareness of technology used in today's high paced manufacturing and construction firms. Students gain an understanding of terminology common to the areas of engineering and construction by participating in high interest activities such as the giant clothespin project and a model bridge project. The popular CO2 car project helps students to learn about aerodynamics, shapes, and measurements. Hand and power tool safety will be greatly emphasized. Career awareness is also integrated.
