Ríos Spanish Immersion
The goal of Ríos Spanish Immersion program is to provide educational experiences that support bilingualism and biliteracy in Spanish and English, as well as reinforce high academic standards and increase socio-cultural competency. The program begins in kindergarten and is continued through Grade 12 at Jefferson Elementary, Winona Middle School and Winona Senior High School.
It is the only dual language immersion program in Winona County.
All Winona Area Public Schools students will be offered the same rigorous core curriculum in reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Immersion students will study the same core curriculum and Minnesota academic standards which connect subject areas.
