Due to the rising number of positive COVID-19 cases in Winona County, Winona Area Public Schools will shift to Winhawk Learning Model No. 4, which moves Grades 7-12 into distance learning to start the 2020-21 school year.

The Winona Area Public Schools Board of Education on Wednesday night gave approval to preliminary plans to welcome some students back into school buildings this fall by approving Winhawk Learning Model No. 3 — which is a hybrid model for all students.
Earlier today, Gov. Tim Walz, in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Education and the Minnesota Department of Health, unveiled “Minnesota’s Safe Learning Plan,” the roadmap for districts across the state to follow for the 2020-21 school year.
