WSHS student recognized for dedication to figure skating

Jordyn Werner never lost her passion for figure skating.

That dedication is now being recognized at a national level.

Werner, a Winona Senior High School student, was recently honored in the Graduating Seniors Program, an initiative of the Program Development Committee of the U.S. Figure Skating Association. The Graduating Seniors Program recognizes high school students who worked hard to pursue figure skating while maintaining high achievement in the classroom.

Not only was Werner an accomplished figure skater and standout student, she also participated in three sports — tennis, track and hockey. She also helped as a figure skating coach.

Werner was honored during the Winona Figure Skating Club’s annual ice show earlier this month.
