Daniel Florness, a senior at Winona Senior High School, was recently identified as a College Board National Recognition Program Scholar.

WSHS Principal Mark Anderson awarded Florness with a certificate on Thursday.

Florness was honored because of his “remarkable academic achievements and outstanding performance on the PSAT/MMSQT,” according to a letter from College Board CEO David Coleman.

“You have put in the effort and your future is bright,” Coleman wrote. “This recognition will help colleges see the potential and power of your curiosity and your commitment to learning.”

Florness has not decided on his plans after high school. He said he is interested in studying engineering.

Florness is the son of Daniel Sr. and Jennie.
