This spring numerous awards were presented to the outstanding senior musicians at Winona Senior High School.
Nicole Banicki, daughter of Dawn Banicki and Jeff Banicki, received the National School Choral Award. Kaia Hamilton, daughter of Alison DeNio and Wes Hamilton, is the recipient of both the National School Orchestra Association Award and the CodaBow Award. Cade Ferstl, son of Kerri and Andrew Ferstl, received the John Philip Sousa Band Award. Katelyn Dennis, daughter of Melissa and Kevin Dennis, and Pa Cha Vang, daughter of Yang Vue and Matthew Vang, each were named recipients of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award.
Outstanding senior band members were also recognized. They include Emily Carrie, Joella Goyette, Kole Koehler, Marissa Lindaman and Grant Wolner. Senior drum majors receiving acknowledgements are Cal Brinkman, Emily Cierzan, Caroline Dahlke, Lauren Johnson, Marissa Lindaman and Jenny Russell.
