The Winona Senior High School National Honor Society inducted 31 new members and re-inducted 28 others at a ceremony Monday night at the high school auditorium.
The National Honor Society (NHS) has been recognizing outstanding student achievement since 1921. NHS promotes the ideals of scholarship, leadership, service and character.
The WSHS National Honor Society officers are president Skye Schultz, vice president Pa Cha Vang and board members Nicholas Brand, Marissa Lindaman and Erin Renk.
The re-inducted members in the Class of 2020 included: Nicole Banicki, Austin Beck, Nicholas Brand, Emma Bucknam, Emily Carrie, Emily Cierzan, Sondra Dahl, Caroline Dahlke, Katelyn Dennis, Kaia Hamilton, Jack Herczeg, Lauren Johnson, Bailey Jonsgaard, Jackie Li, Marissa Lindaman, Alaina Lofgren, Austin Mlynczak, Erin Renk, Jennifer Russell, Jack Rutkowski, Skye Schultz, Jill Serleth, Jaelyn Simmons, Kaelah Simmons, Anni Skillicorn, Kailee Slinkman, Pa Cha Vang, Grant Wolner.
The newly inducted members in the Class of 2020 included: Grace Grigler, Kole Koehler, Kai Kovala, Ryan Meyer and Lydia Withrow.
The newly inducted members in the Class of 2021 included: AJ Appicelli, Madison Bell, Marissa Borkowski, Grace Buswell, Kaitlyn Clemons, AnnMarie Donahue, Kayla Ellefson, Daniel Florness, Carsen Fritz, Colleen Halleck, Emma Heinert, Paige Hermsen, Lilyan Holtz, Chloe Hughes, Ariana Jacobs, Livie Johnston, Emma Koehler, Julia Kronebusch, Anissa Lee, Nicole Miller, Rachel Russell, Issara Schmidt, Hannah Sheridan, Briar Volkman, Morgan Walker, Taylor Wind.
The NHS adviser is Sarah Dixen, and the faculty council includes Courtney Dahlby, Jacob Feldman, Adam Matson and Linda Pfeilsticker.
WAPS Superintendent Dr. Annette K. Freiheit and WSHS Principal Mark Anderson gave a welcome address, while Margaret Schild, former Director of Community Education, was the guest speaker.
