WNB Financial donates laundry supplies to Winona Area Learning Center

WNB Financial ALC Donation

Jack Richter, President & CEO of WNB Financial, delivers laundry supplies to principal Emily Cassellius and students Haley Smith, Paige Schewe and Brook Schrumpf at the Winona Area Learning Center.

WNB Financial and its employees donated laundry supplies to the Winona Area Learning Center on Wednesday, Sept. 18, which earlier this year received a donation of a washer and dryer from Pleasant Valley Church and the Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools.

The donated supplies included more than 40 bottles of laundry detergent and pods, dryer sheets, stain removers, laundry baskets and bags, and a drying rack. Students are able to use the washer and dryer free of charge, and WNB Financial’s donation will now allow supplies to be used free of charge.

Students often asked to use the washer and dryer in the child care area, ALC principal Emily Cassellius said, but state regulations prevented the school from allowing it.

“Having clean clothes should never be a barrier for attending school,” Cassellius said. “We are excited to be able to provide this need for our students.”

WNB Financial employees understand the importance of giving back to the community they serve. In 2018, 36 employees donated 2,211 hours of service to 91 organizations. WNB gifted over $377,900 to the community in the areas of education and youth programs, fine arts and culture, health and wellness, economic development, and community service.

If you are interested in donating laundry supplies to the ALC, they can be dropped off at the school, which is located at 1299 W. Third St., Winona.
