Winona Area Public Schools
It was the perfect day for a perfect event.
Under sunny skies and in front of an encouraging crowd on Friday, May 17 at Paul Giel Field, nearly 200 student athletes from 16 schools across southeastern Minnesota competed in the 49th annual Special Athletic Competition, hosted by Winona Area Public Schools.
Athletes could compete in a variety of field events, including the ball kick, ball throw and long jump. Events on the track included a 4x50 yard relay and a 50 yard dash.
The event was sponsored by Kiwanis Sunrisers of Winona, Alliant Castings, Jim’s Truck & Trailer Coachwerks, Excel Images, Team Maroushek - REAL, Kimo’s Portable Toilets, First Student, Pro Cal Services, KidZ Physical Therapy and Saint Mary’s University.
Everyone deserves to be a part of something bigger than themselves.
