For the month of June, Stacy Rasmussen was able to use this car after being named one of WKBT-TV's "Top Notch Teachers."
Stacy Rasmussen was honored at a reception Wednesday night that honored outstanding teachers in the greater La Crosse area.
Rasmussen, a teacher at Jefferson Elementary, was one of the teachers honored in WKBT-TV's "Top Notch Teacher Program" for the 2018-19 school year. Rasmussen was profiled by the TV station in June, and a reception was held Wednesday night to honor all of the recipients for the 2018-19 school year.
The Top Notch Teacher Program focuses on teachers and their efforts in and out of the classroom — teachers who have made an impact on someone's life. WKBT asks for submissions from families to nominate a teacher who they feel goes above and beyond. Each month (except September), WKBT picks one teacher, comes to their classroom and produces a story.
The honored teachers also get the opportunity to drive a special car from Honda Motorwerks for a month.
