Winona Area Public SchoolsThe 2018 Special Athletic Track and Field Competition will be take place on Friday, May 18th at Paul Giel Field (SMU Fieldhouse in case of rain) in Winona, MN. Please join us for the Parade of Athletes at 9:30 and cheer for the 224 athletes from 22 different schools who will be participating in a variety of events. These track and field events are for students from kindergarten through high school who have varying abilities. They have the opportunity to compete in: frisbee throw, softball throw, standing long jump, ball kick, running long jump, 50 yard dash and a relay race. There will be bounce houses, face painting and games for the athletes. This event is sponsored by the Winona Area Public Schools and Winona Sunrisers Kiwanis, with donations from Alliant Castings, Jim’s Truck and Trailer Coachwerks, Excel Images, Fastenal, Redmen Club, Merchants Bank, Kimo’s Portable Toilets, and Walmart. The public is welcomed to attend this fantastic high energy event from 9:15 to approximately 12pm!
