The Cool School Polar Plunge is coming to Winona Senior High School.

The fundraising event will be held behind the high school at 2:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 19, and the community is invited to help our students, teachers and staff members raise money for the Unified Physical Education class and other inclusive activities.

The fundraising event is held in conjunction with Special Olympics Minnesota to help make our schools more inclusive. The Unified Champion Schools movement is aimed at empowering a generation of student leaders to change their school culture to be more inclusive. One example of how this is happening at Winona Senior High School is the Unified PE class, which brings together students with and without disabilities

The Cool School Polar Plunge uses the Plungester, a custom-designed mobile Plunge pool. Don’t worry, the water is just as cool, providing participants with a “refreshing” dunk, all in support of a good cause.

The Polar Plunge will be live streamed on the WAPS activity page.
