Winona Area Public SchoolsEach year, the Goodview Student Council plans multiple service projects to complete throughout the year. This year Britta Browne, Goodview Student Council Advisor, encouraged students to try and think of ways they could help people in our own community; to think of a project that hadn’t been done before. The student council students were insistent on helping the homeless people in our community. Ms. Browne contacted the Winona Warming Center to seek out items that would be needed during the month of January. They requested hand and feet warmers, men’s gloves, hats, and warm socks due to the cold weather in January. On Wednesday, January 23 the Goodview students, families, and staff went above and beyond and collected 210 items to be donated! We hope these donations will warm the hearts, hands, & feet of many homeless adults in our community!
