Free tutoring opportunity available for WAPS students in Grades 1-4
Play Day

Winona State University is partnering with Winona Area Public Schools this upcoming spring semester to provide free tutoring for elementary students.

If your student is in first through fourth grade and could benefit from additional support in reading and spelling, please consider this free tutoring opportunity.

The tutoring sessions will be virtual and will take place between noon and 3:30 p.m. For students in distance learning, this could be an opportunity to receive additional 1-on-1 support. For students who are learning in-person, tutoring sessions could be held when they arrive home from school or scheduled during their time at Key Kids.

Your student will be helping a Winona State teacher candidate learn the Orton-Gillingham teaching approach under the supervision of WSU faculty member Ms. Katie Barofsky.

If you are interested, please contact WAPS Director of Learning and Teaching Karla Winter at karla.winter@winona.k12.mn.us or 507-494-0866 for more information.

Please express your interest by Friday, Jan. 22.
