The Foundation for Winona Area Public Schools recently approved two grants that will help students in the Ríos Spanish Immersion Program as well as the LEO Program at Winona Senior High School
A grant of $170 was awarded for the Brainpop.com plan for students at Jefferson Elementary School. It is an online learning tool that will adapt well to the program's learning standards.
A grant of $500 was awarded the LEO program for PayDay rewards. The LEO PayDay rewards program works to motivate students who struggle with
mental health issues, and require an additional boost in motivation. Students in the self-contained LEO program earn tickets for completing assignments and displaying positive behavior. Tickets can be entered into a variety of drawings, one of which allows the winner to choose their own prize from Amazon. Grant money is used to fund this portion of the motivational program.
