Elementary students showcase their research at the Independent Project Fair

Winona Area Public Schools 2nd through 4th grade students had the opportunity to showcase their research projects on Tuesday, April 9th to peers and the community. The projects ranged from information about volcanoes and tornadoes to how to raise a puppy.

The Project Fair was held at Winona Middle School where tables were set up and rows of projects were available on display. Each student had a poster or trifold that contained information about their project. The diverse variety of topics shows that each student was able to research a topic they had an interest in. Community members had the opportunity to ask students about their informative presentations. Some of the students even included interactive props that increased the interactivity of their display.  Cari Rustad, Gifted and Talented Teacher stated, “The students have been preparing for this event since January.  We met to learn about researching, display boards, and overall presentation of their topics.  These young learners definitely rose to the occasion.”  This event provided students with the chance to present the hard work they put into their projects.
