Donations Received for "Feed the Kids Fund"

Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) believes in providing every student an opportunity to enjoy a breakfast and lunch during their school day. Students receive nutritious meals regardless of their meal account balance. Every child deserves to start the day energized and focused instead of being worried about not being able to afford school meals.

To ensure that all students have access to meals, WAPS implemented  a “Feed the Kids “ fund which provides a safety net for K-12 students that do not have sufficient funds for school meals. Recently two events have been held to support this fund.  Tyler Olson, a former Winona Senior High School student, organized a breakfast at Pleasant Valley Church on January 12th, and raised $940. The Minnesota Bankers Association Leadership Academy, a group of 21 community bankers from across Minnesota, raised awareness and held fundraisers to support student meals. WAPS received $1,205 from these efforts for Feed the Kids Fund.

If you are interested in donating to the Feeds the Kids Fund, contributions can be mailed to School Nutrition Office at 903 Gilmore Avenue, Winona MN. Learn more about Feed the Kids Fund.
