Free meal delivery in Winona

The School Nutrition staff helps a First Student bus driver load up to deliver free meals to students in Winona.

The School Nutrition staff at Winona Area Public Schools is now able to offer delivery of meals to families who reside within the district boundaries.

While WAPS is in distance learning at all levels, delivery of meals (Monday-Friday) will be offered to all families. The meals include that day’s lunch and the following day’s breakfast.

Most families will be able to receive daily delivery of meals, while others may receive weekly delivery of a five-day meal pack.

All children ages 18 and under, regardless if they attend a WAPS school, are eligible to receive free meals throughout the 2020-21 school year. There are no income limits.

Five-day meal packs are also available for pick-up on Wednesdays at Winona Senior High School (7-9 a.m., 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.) and Maplewood Townhomes (noon-12:30 p.m.)

To sign up to receive meals, either delivered or to pick up, fill out this form. Delivery requests may take several days to process, and pick-up orders need to be made the Friday before the Wednesday pick-up date in order to make sure enough supplies are ordered.

Note: This post has been updated to reflect that the district is able to deliver meals to all families in the district, however it may not be able to do so on a daily basis.
