A video message from Superintendent Freiheit

Hello families,

I wanted to record a quick video message to send to our community updating everyone on our preparations for the possibility of distance learning.

A few other quick reminders:

  • Classroom teachers are in the process of reaching out to their students to see what sort of support will be needed in case the governor declares the move to distance learning on March 30.
  • As of now, students are not allowed in the buildings through March 27, except for children who are enrolled in our emergency child care program. We will make arrangements for students to enter their school buildings to pick up any materials they will need during an extended school closure. We will pass along those details to you when they are ready.
  • Once our distance learning plans are finalized, we will pass them along to you. Please check winonaschools.org/schoolclosures for updates throughout our planning process, including links for how to receive meals and other services during the closure.

Thank you for your support.
