Student of the Month Isabell Livingston - 7th Grade
Winona Middle School student of the month is Isabell Livingston. Isabell is a 7th grade student who is always prepared for class with a positive attitude. She is the first to help her flute section during band class and is kind to those around here. Isabell is accountable and all assignments are completed on time to her best ability. She works very hard and accepts leadership opportunities when presented. Congratulations Isabell, we are lucky to have you at Winona Middle School! Message From Principal Dear Parents/Guardians -
May is an exciting and exhausting time for everyone: students, teachers, staff, and parents. May celebrates the culmination of a year of hard work. Every night has at least two things going on simultaneously, it seems. May boasts final projects, assessments, field trips, and concerts. We take every opportunity to celebrate our students/staff and encourage you to follow us on Facebook to keep up with WMS happenings and events.
May is our final full month of learning for the school year. As we prepare our students for the end of the year, we offer a reminder that every absence for any reason is a learning opportunity lost. As “summer-itis” hits and the sunbeams in the windows, thoughts float to free time, swimming pools, and vacations...but we are not there yet. Again, we ask for your support in helping your student maintain focus on learning through June 7. These final weeks have a major impact on final grades and provide teachers important information about student learning and achievement. Demonstrating behaviors that help support learning at school is a critical piece as well.
Finally, in May we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week from May 6th-10th. If you have not already had a chance to do so, drop your child’s teacher(s) an email or a note for Teacher Appreciation Week. Of course, our teachers do not expect this, but this time of year such a gesture can be a breath of fresh air.
This will be our final newsletter of this school year. We hope you have a funfilled summer and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or concerns as we wrap up the 18' - 19' school year.
Sincerely, Mark Winter - Principal School News AMITY Intern Host Family During the 2019-20 school year the Rios Spanish Immersion program will play host to cultural interns from Spanish speaking countries at Jefferson Elementary and Winona Middle School.
