During Thursday night’s school board meeting, the board will continue the conversation regarding the potential for a grade level reconfiguration of our schools. Board members Nancy Denzer and Michael Hanratty have crafted a specific proposal for the 2024-25 school year that they will bring forward for board consideration.

Please keep in mind that this is only a proposal, and is going before the board as an informational item. The proposal includes a timeline that would have this come before the board at its Feb. 29 meeting as a briefing, then as an action item on March 21.
The proposal includes the following reconfiguration:
- Goodview Elementary would house Pre-K and Kindergarten
- W-K Elementary would house Grades 1-2
- Jefferson Elementary would house Grades 3-4
Community members and families wishing to speak publicly on this matter would be encouraged to address the board during the public comment portion of regularly scheduled board meetings on Feb. 29 and March 21.
The goal is to take action at the March 21 meeting.
As a reminder, our board meetings are streamed live on our WAPS District YouTube page, and you are also welcome to attend in person. Thursday’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. and will be held in the Multi-Purpose Room off the Learning Commons at the high school.
