Food Assistance for Families
Because of the federal government shutdown, some food assistance programs may not be available to families.
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and Minnesota Family Investment Program (MFIP) may not be issued in November. The cash portion of MFIP will still be issued.
The Minnesota Free School Meals Program is not affected, which means that all students in Winona Area Public Schools will still receive free breakfast and lunch while at school.
We know this situation may feel confusing and stressful, and we want you to know that you are not alone. There are local and state resources available to help your family through this time.
