WSHS was placed in a hold this morning

Dear Winona Senior High School families,

This message is to inform you that Winona Senior High School experienced a hold for approximately 10 minutes today due to a bat in the concourse.

A hold is a Standard Response Protocol (SRP) used to ensure staff can move quickly and efficiently through the building in response to any type of situation. During a hold, students and staff are asked to remain in their current locations.

Please see this video for more information on a hold, or this video explaining the Standard Response Protocol. Additional information and resources are available at winonaschools.org/safety.

(Los videos en español están disponibles aquí y aquí.)

The bat has been removed, and normal school activities have resumed. At no point were students or staff in any danger.

Thank you,

Nathan Warneke

Principal
