Keeping an eye on the weather for Sunday's graduation ceremony

Hello families,

We are excited to celebrate the Winona Senior High School Class of 2026 during the 156th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday.

The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. at Paul Giel Field. Family members and friends who are unable to attend in person can watch live on HBC-TV Channel 25. A livestream will also be available at winonaschools.org and on the WAPS Activities YouTube page.

As always, we are keeping a close eye on the weather. While the forecast currently looks favorable, conditions can change. It is not an option to move the ceremony indoors. If weather becomes a concern, our plan would be to delay the ceremony to later in the day rather than relocate it. Depending on the circumstances, that could mean a start time of 4 p.m. or 7 p.m.

We will post an update on winonaschools.org by 9 a.m. Sunday. The update will either confirm the 2 p.m. start time or provide information about when the next update will be shared.

If any changes become necessary, we will communicate them through the same channels we use for weather-related school announcements: email, text message, phone call, social media and our website.

Our goal is to make this a safe, enjoyable and memorable day for our graduates and the family members and friends who are celebrating alongside them.

Thank you, and congratulations to the Class of 2026.
