Goodview was placed into a secure today

Hello families, 

Earlier today, Goodview School was put into a secure due to law enforcement activity in the area. 

Secure is one of the actions as part of our established Standard Response Protocol. In a secure, students and staff are brought into the building. Exterior doors are locked, and nobody is allowed to enter or exit the building. Learning takes place as normal.

The secure was lifted after about 10 minutes. At no point were students or staff in any danger, and many students may not have even been aware of what was happening. This is a common response by many schools due to any sort of law enforcement activity in the area.

Student safety is our top priority, and it is also a shared responsibility. We are thankful for the cooperation of local law enforcement to alert us of the activity near our school, and we are thankful that our students and staff cooperated to keep everyone safe.
