6th grade field trip to Winona County Justice Center

Dear Parent or Guardian:

I am contacting you today to inform you of a 6th grade field trip to the Winona County Justice Center on Friday, May 1, 2026. Students from around the area, including Winona Middle School, have been invited to attend this unique experience to tour the court room, jail, and other areas of the courthouse. This field trip was rejuvenated this year after a hiatus during the COVID era.

The students will be broken into two groups: one will attend a two hour session in the morning, while the second group will attend in the afternoon. Both groups will be chaperoned by the 6th grade teaching staff. The students will be broken into four groups and will learn at four different stations at the courthouse. The county will be providing retired Winona county justices and city council members as tour leaders.
