Winona Area Public Schools will adhere to requirements and guidelines from the Minnesota Department of Health and the Minnesota Department of Education regarding athletics and activities.
- MSHSL Sports Guidance and COVID-19 Resources
- Minnesota Department of Health Sports Guidance for Youth and Adults
- Big 9 Conference schedule (some events may not be open to spectators)
Attendance at athletic events is severely limited or outright restricted. Although that is disappointing, they are the rules we must adhere to in order for our students to do what they love.
There will be no tickets available to the general public for football games this season. Each team is limited to 125 tickets (for a total of 250), and most of those are accounted for by family members of the football players and coaches.
There are no spectators at all for volleyball games — not even family members.
The good news is that you can still put on the orange and black and cheer for our Winhawks. We will have live streams for all home volleyball and football games, and other schools will be able to stream events as well. Look for those links on our website or social media channels as we get closer to game day.
Before the first day of practice, each team needs to submit a COVID-19 plan in line with Minnesota Department of Health guidelines to Activities Director Casey Indra for approval. The plans may be updated throughout the season as more information and regulations are handed down from MDH and MDE.
