Kindergarten Open House set for Monday, Feb. 2

Are you ready for a kindergarten adventure? 

Winona Area Public Schools will welcome future kindergarten students and their families to Goodview School for a Kindergarten Open House event from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 2.

Goodview School is located at 5100 9th St. in Goodview. All kindergarten students in Winona Area Public Schools attend Goodview, where they will learn and grow through play, exploration and connection. The caring staff at Goodview relies on proven systems to build a positive culture and provide individualized support for all students.

For your the kindergartner, this evening is a chance to feel excited and comfortable about school by:

• Meeting friendly teachers and staff
• Exploring their new school
• Playing with future classmates
• Taking home a Winhawk goodie bag

For families, it’s an opportunity to:

• Learn about our high expectations and the individual support provided to every student
• Explore the wide range of programs and services available
• Ask questions and begin the enrollment process

Families are welcome to come and go as they please, but there will be two short presentations at 5:45 p.m. and 6:15 p.m.

In addition, representatives from the Ríos Spanish Dual Language Immersion program will be offering a brief presentation and informational session to be held after the event concludes, at 6:30 p.m.

While there will be information about registration, there will not be an opportunity to register your child for kindergarten. Registration can be completed online at winonaschools.org/enroll, or by calling Jami Spitzer, central enrollment secretary, at 507-494-0870.
