Winona Area Public Schools has proven to be a strong supporter of school choice programs as evidenced by its long-standing history of sponsoring the first approved charter school in the state of Minnesota.

Learner Needs

Focusing on the needs of the learner and acknowledging all learners deserve equitable access to resources for a valuable education. For some of our students these individual learner needs may be met in a charter school setting.

Creating an emotionally and physically safe and welcoming environment for all students and staff. We recognize that we work as partners with our charter schools have environments that are safe and welcoming for all students and staff.

Communicating openly and honestly and acting compassionately. As a school district, we share this responsibility with other public education organizations.
