Birth to Three

The Birth to Three program uses Evidence-based Quality Intervention Practices (EQIP). EQIP incorporates evidence-based practices to build family capacity using coaching interaction practices and to embed intervention in the child's natural environment. 

Teams observe and provide support to families to improve their child's skills and abilities rather than working with children. Visits will take place in the child's natural environment, which may include their home, child care setting, or other places in the community.

Some babies and young children need extra help to learn and grow. While young children grow and change at their own rate, some children have delays in development. 

Getting early intervention services as soon as possible will ensure best outcomes. High-quality services can reduce further problems in learning, behavior and health.

The journey of your child's early years includes many developmental milestones for how he or shee plays, learns, speaks and acts. 

Not reaching these miletsones, or reaching them much later than other children, could be a sign of a developmental delay. If you are concerned about your child's development, talk to your child's doctor.

Help Me Grow Minnesota connects families to resources that help young children develop, learn and grow. Families can refer their child for a comprehensive, confidential screening or evaluation at no cost if they have concerns about their child's development.
