Adult Literacy

Learn English for free with English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes from Winona Area Public Schools. 

• Morning ESL Intermediate/Advanced (Online)
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Morning ESL Beginner/Intermediate (Online)
  • Mondays through Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
• Morning ESL Beginner/Intermediate (In-person)
  • Mondays through Fridays, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
    • Tuesdays & Thursdays at Winona Public Library, 151 W. 5th Street, 2nd floor
    • Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays meet at the Impact Center, 66 E. 2nd St.
• Evening ESL Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced (In-person)
  • Mondays and Wednesdays, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Winona Senior High School, 901 Gilmore Ave., Rooms 203-204

Winona Adult Literacy can help you get your GED. We offer individualized educational planning to meet your goals. Students can work in-person in one of our GED Labs and work online from home. All students need to complete orientation and testing to officially enroll in the program.

• Orientation and Testing takes approximately 4-5 hours to complete, and it can be done over a number of days
• Once we have your reading and math test scores, we will develop your individual learning plan to meet your educational goals
• Orientation & Testing occurs most weeks during our GED Lab.  The GED Lab is on Tuesdays from 1-4 p.m., and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to noon.  Please call 507-494-0924 to make sure the GED Lab is still meeting because days and times can change as needed.
