Fall 2019 Trips

Visit the Great River Road Wine Trail

  • When: 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019
  • Location: Winona Middle School parking lot 
  • Cost: $69
  • Registration deadline: Wednesday, Sept. 4

Join us for a trip on the Great River Road Trail for a day of tour, tasting, relaxation and fun. Our first winery is the Villa Bellezza Winery in Pepin, Wis. Enjoy a tasting of six of their award winning wines. From there they will take us on the path the grape takes from vine to bottle. In the wine processing warehouse you will learn about the harvest and winemaking techniques used in this state-of-the-art facility. Your tour concludes with time for strolling, shopping and lunch on your own at the Villa Bellezza Winery & Vineyards, il Forno Ristorante! Enjoy their country Italian menu, which features salads, panini, pasta dishes, wood-fired pizzas, and a special section of entrées. Vegetarian and gluten-free options also available. The second winery of the day is Danzinger Vineyards in Alma, Wis. This experience includes a tasting of six Danzinger wines in your Danzinger stemless wine glass. Your fee includes coach bus, tasting of six wines and a tour at Villa Bellezza as well as tasting of six wines at Danzingers. Lunch is NOT included in your registration fee. No cancellation after September 4, 2019. You must be 21 years of age or older to participate.

Galena

Enjoy the colorful days of fall as you relax on our trip to Galena, Illinois! Galena was a popular, bustling destination in the early 1800s and was the home of Ulysses S. Grant. Today’s travelers to northwestern Illinois find treasures in the area’s art galleries and studios, local shops and wineries, and enjoying the natural beauty of the rolling hills and gentle valleys. There will be time on your own to shop, dine and take in all of the activities Galena has to offer during their annual Country Fair. We will also take a quick stop along the way to visit the famous Grotto in Dickeyville. Registrations are due by September 27, 2019.  No refunds after September 27, 2019.  An itinerary will be sent to you approximately one week prior to the trip with specifics.

Phantom of the Opera at the Orpheum

Cameron Mackintosh’s spectacular new production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s "The Phantom of the Opera" makes a triumphant return to Minneapolis. Hailed by critics as “bigger and better than ever before,” this production boasts many exciting special effects including the show’s legendary chandelier, new scenic and lighting designs, new staging and choreography. The beloved story and thrilling score will be performed by a cast and orchestra of 52, making this 'Phantom' one of the largest productions now on tour. Our ticket price includes main floor seating, buffet lunch at Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery and coach bus. To secure our tickets, all registrations are due by Oct. 11, 2019. Autumn Festival: An Arts & Crafts Affair in Shakopee

Enjoy a festive marketplace as you visit this award-winning Arts & Crafts Festival and get your holiday shopping done all in one day. Featuring some of the nation’s most skilled artisans and craftspeople from all over the country, you’ll see them display and sell their American made, handcrafted creations. From traditional to contemporary, the event showcases the finest selection of talents and innovative handcrafted works making these shows the ultimate “pop-up shops” of the arts & crafts industry. You’ll find unique art, personalized gifts, jewelry, ornaments, home decor, whimsical and re-purposed works, clothing, children’s items, purses, gourmet food and so much more. The last stop will be the Mall of America where you can finish up your shopping for the day. Registration deadline Nov. 1, 2019. No refunds after Nov. 1, 2019.
