On March 29, 2018, the Winona Area Public Schools (WAPS) Board of Education voted to consolidate elementary schools. This will change attendance boundaries for the 2018-2019 school year for many elementary students.
On April 3, 2018, new attendance boundary information will be available on the District website (winonaschools.org) or by calling 507-494-0861. On the website, Parents/Guardians will be able to enter their address and locate their child’s school of attendance for 2018-19, using the Infofinder link.
Please note, some special education programs and the Spanish Language Immersion Program (SLIP) may not be in the school of attendance according to the child’s attendance boundary. Information regarding school of attendance for these programs will be mailed directly to the parent or guardian.
Additionally, the district will be transitioning to STEM education in all elementary buildings. Any requests for in-district open enrollment will be handled in accordance with district policy (WAPS Policy 798).
All elementary families will receive an invitation the week of April 16th to attend an Open House at their designated Elementary school. Open Houses will be held April 23 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
For more information please contact the superintendent's office at 507-494-0861.
